The Canadoes International Band of Ghana was one of the many dance bands from Ghana that operated in Nigeria in the 70s and the 80s. The Agege era was when J.J.Rawlings' military coup and regime's imposed curfew disrupted the lively evening night life in Ghana, especially in the major cities of Accra, Tema, Kumasi, Koforidua, Takoradi, Sunyani and Tamale where majority of the top Ghanaian dance bands were based and offered stress relieving and socialization nights for the communities. Many of the Ghanaian bands at the time relocated to Nigeria, and Canadoes was one of them. Aseibu Amenfi who was one of the lead vocalists of the group mentioned recently during an interview that most of the bandsmen were former members of Alex Konadu's band .
